Privacy Policy

1. What We Collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address and password (stored securely via Supabase Auth)
• Your first and last name
• An optional profile photo

As you use the app, we store the content you create: prayer requests, messages, walk journal entries, Bible highlights and notes, calendar RSVPs, and daily walk completions. This data is stored in your private group and is only visible to members of that group.

2. Push Notifications

If you grant notification permission, we store a push notification token associated with your account. This token is used solely to deliver in-app notifications (prayer updates, messages, walk reminders). You can disable notifications at any time in the app or in your device settings.

3. AI Features

Arbor uses the Anthropic Claude API to power AI-assisted features (Bible assistant, daily walk prompts, spiritual direction). When you use these features, relevant context (such as your current study passage or prayer list) is sent to Anthropic's API to generate a response. This data is processed in transit and is not retained by Anthropic for training purposes under our API agreement. We do not store your AI conversation history on our servers beyond your active session.

4. How We Use Your Data

We use your information only to provide and improve the app's features within your private group. Specifically:

• To authenticate your account and keep it secure
• To display your name and profile photo to group members
• To deliver push notifications you've opted into
• To generate personalized AI responses when you use AI features
• To send transactional emails (password reset, account-related notices)

5. We Do Not Sell Your Data

We do not sell, rent, share, or otherwise transfer your personal information to third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. Full stop.

6. Data Storage & Security

Your data is stored in Supabase, a cloud database provider with row-level security policies that ensure only authorized users can access your group's data. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We do not store payment card information — subscription billing is handled entirely by Apple (App Store) and Google (Play Store) through RevenueCat.

7. Children's Privacy

Arbor is designed for adult small groups. Arbor Youth is designed for use within supervised youth ministry programs under adult leadership. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without verifiable parental consent through their youth ministry leader.

8. Account Deletion

You can delete your account at any time from within the app (More → Account → Delete Account). Deleting your account permanently removes your profile, messages, prayers, and all associated data from our servers. This action cannot be undone.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. We'll notify you of material changes through the app or by email. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
